Become A Tutor FAQs
How does tutoring with BrightSparkz Tutors work?
Once your application is approved, you’ll be added to our database of qualified tutors. We will match you with students based on your subject preferences, grade preferences and availability. Lessons are primarily one-on-one, and can take place either online or in-person, depending on what works best for you and your student.
Can I tutor online only?
Yes! If you prefer to tutor online only, you can indicate this in your application and we’ll only match you with online students.
How many lessons per week do I have to tutor?
Tutors are expected to commit to at least one lesson per week per subject per student, but the number of sessions can vary based on the individual student’s needs, goals and package requirements.
Where do I find resources?
Tutors are expected to prepare their own lesson materials. However, we offer support through our BrightSparkz AI chatbot, which can assist with lesson planning, practice questions, and material tailored to the student’s level and subject. We are also working on building our Tutor Resource Library, which you can contribute to and be credited for! If you’re interested in building this library with us, please email tutors@brightsparkz.ca
